Awards and Accolades
At Media Production Group, our focus is meeting clients’ needs. We don’t set out to win awards, but we have produced a lot of award-winning work.
Some examples of our more recent recognitions:
Media Production Group won a platinum award in the annual MarCom competition.
MPG, a unit of the Harbert College of Business, won the award for work supporting the SEC Case Competition, hosted by the college in 2021.
Due to COVID restrictions, the 2021 competition was held virtually for the first time in its history.
MPG’s award came in the Strategic Communications/Promotion/Marketing Materials category. The MarCom Awards, an international competition conducted by the Association of Communications and Marketing Professionals, drew more than 6,000 entries from 41 countries.
Competitors for the awards include corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Platinum winners are chosen for excellence in quality, creativity and resourcefulness.
We’ve won some other MarCom awards before this one. MPG won Platinum and Gold awards for two projects in the 2020 competition.

MPG took five awards – four Platinum and one Gold – in the 2020 Hermes competition, one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world. We joined media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies among the winners.
We’ve also gotten some attention at the WorldFest-Houston International Film festival, one of the world’s largest and longest-running film and video competitions. A video created by MPG won the Gold Remi award for Best Public Service Announcement in 2019.
“Egg Crash” was developed as a part of $1.1 million in annual grant funding from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, distributed by the Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
MPG took a Silver Award in the 2022 Telly Awards for our “Stop Motion” spot, produced for the Click It or Ticket campaign under a $1.1 million grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
For more than 40 years, the Telly Awards have honored excellence in video and television across all screens. This global competition drew more than 11,000 entries. MPG joins such notable Telly winners as ESPN, Warner Bros., Microsoft, Paramount and Sony Music Entertainment.
Something here about the other awards we win and grants we have been awarded.
Through these grants, MPG creates video and audio messaging on seatbelt use and drunk driving that is shown in movie theaters and aired on television and radio.
We won two Gold Remi awards in the 2018 festival. “Long Arm of the Law,” another NHTSA project, was cited in the Public Service category. “Inspiring Business,” created to mark Harbert’s 50th anniversary, won in the Institutional Identity category.
Previous Remi winners include Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ang Lee, the Coen Brothers, Ridley Scott, Oliver Stone and Francis Ford Coppola. Who’s Remi? You may know him better as Frederick Remington, the Western sculptor and artist for whom the awards are named.
We’re always looking for challenging new projects, so we’d love to talk with you about working with us. We’re eager to tackle creative projects with clients who embrace our collaborative approach to solving problems and telling stories.
