This video textbook uses state-of-the-art equipment, animations, 3D modeling, and on-site video to present an introductory look at how ‘layout’ is handled on a construction site. The content is divided into chapters that include measurement and scales, differential leveling, jobsite applications for elevation, structural layout and control, field calibration tests, interior partition layout, and demonstrations of current advanced technologies.
Reaching a broad audience
Althought it was created at Auburn University, in collaboration with The University of Oklahoma, our goal was to make Surveying & Layout available to everyone.
Using a custom online platform, students across the country and abroad can access our content. We have formed partnerships with other universities that use Surveying & Layout as an integral component of their curriculum. Industry professionals also use the material to train employees.
