Animation & Motion

The Auburn Family is made up of those who get things done for the greater good. Fueled by an undergraduate experience that is second to none, our graduates are prepared and inspired to lead and innovate in their professions, their communities and the world. And every day, our faculty discover and refine life-changing solutions to real-world problems facing humanity. At Auburn, we are what we do.

Overcoming challenges through creative problem-solving

Behind-the-scenes shoot at Sougahatchee Creek

This spot was created during the early stages of the pandemic, so the MPG crew had to take special considerations for safety. Aside from a few outdoor shoots, this PSA was created entirely from found footage and motion graphics.

After Effects GUI rotoscoping football player

A rotoscope technique was used to achieve the effect of football players passing in front of animated type.

Speaking a visual language

We employed a number of specialized techniques to collect and manipulate footage when pairing it with motion graphics.

Drones were used to gather aerial video from outdoor shoots. But with extreme limitations on recording video due to lockdowns, we had to get creative with found footage. We developed motion graphics treatment that not only drives the piece, but also allowed us to patch and link the pieces of video we had. We also used a rotoscoping technique, causing some pieces of video to stand in front of the moving typography.
